Doran Edwards, M.D. is a Senior Advisor to Aledo Consulting. Dr. Edwards is the former Medial Director at SADMERC (Statistical Analysis DME Regional Carrier) which is the exclusive DME carrier selected by CMS to provide critical coding and review duties for the entire Medicare DME system. As a result, Dr. Edwards’ expertise in the medical device industry centers on coding, coverage, policy assistance, product design and clinical trial design of durable medical equipment. He also works with CMS, policy makers, and third party payers in coding needs and training for DME products. Prior to this, Dr. Edwards served as the Medical Director of Correctional Health Solutions, Inc., a specialty provider of general and emergency care in addition to serving as Associate Medical Director with Cigna Medicare - a DME Regional Carrier for CMS. Dr. Edwards, a board certified surgeon, graduated from the University of Tennessee, holds a BS in Pharmacy from UT - Memphis, and earned an MD degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Edwards is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Healthcare Consulting.
