Aledo Consulting and ECRI Institute Announce Partnership Focused on Early-Stage Companies in U.S.

August 1, 2014 INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Aledo Consulting Inc. announces a novel partnership to distribute ECRI Institute’s evidence-based reports on new and emerging health technologies to early-stage companies. ECRI Institute, an independent non-profit research organization, has been a leader in the field of health technology assessments (HTAs) for 45 years and is one of 11 Evidence-based Practice Centers under contract with the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Health plans, hospitals, medical technology manufacturers, service providers, and consultants worldwide use ECRI Institute’s HTA resources to make evidence-based coverage and implementation decisions.

Under the terms of this new agreement, Aledo Consulting will offer a la carte pricing for ECRI Institute’s HTA reports to its early stage clients. This will make it feasible and more cost-effective for life science companies to access ECRI Institute reports that are specific to their company products without requiring a subscription to ECRI Institute’s comprehensive membership program.

“Many of our clients are early-stage companies with one or two products. They are interested in understanding how an organization like ECRI Institute reviews their clinical literature as part of a technology assessment process, however, the comprehensive ECRI Institute library, consisting of thousands of reports, is beyond the scope of their interest,” says Aledo Consulting President Dr. Robert McDonald.

“Our goal is to get those reports in the hands of the companies that need them earlier in their product lifecycle,” adds McDonald.
